A winning start to the season! ??

We made it hard work for ourselves and looked nervous for most of the first half. However, we opened the scoring after a ball from Charlie found Ryan who powered a shot past the keeper. The ref then gave a soft penalty which was tucked home by the opposition. We tried to start playing football and managed to go in at half time after a corner from Barry was met by the head of Harrison.
The team talk was simple, let’s start playing with a smile and confidence again. We knew the next goal was gonna be crucial and we had to get it. A cross from Barry to the other side of the pitch was picked up by Toby who composed himself before striking the ball into the net. It gave us some breathing space and confidence was growing again. The points became safe when Ollie poked home the ball after a scramble in the box.
Overall, it’s a win and three points but we know we can play a lot better!
We will refocus and prepare for next week now. ⚽?
